Wicca is a religion that has roots going back to the dawn of man. The late Dr. Margaret Murry traced Witchcraft's origins to Paleolithic times, 25,000 years ago. Because the first humans depended so much on the animals and plants around them for life, animism developed to be what was the first known religion. Animism is ascribing to each natural phenomena a spirit to reside over it. A God or Goddess or spirit was in control of the seas, mountains, and of the animals that were hunted. New information about cave paintings and Goddess figurines and other forms of animism are being found every year.

THE ATLANTEAN SYMBOLISM OF THE EGYPTIAN TEMPLE (PART II)

I have seen the wicked man rising like a mighty cedar tree.
Yet, he passed away, and could be found no more.

THE ATLANTEAN SYMBOLISM OF THE EGYPTIAN TEMPLE (PART I)

Turning my face to sunrise, I created a wonder for you. I made the islands of Punt come here to you, with all their fragrant flowers, to beg your peace and to breathe your air.

At any moment, it seems, a
gold-encrusted and befeathered Inca warrior will materialize between the
curiously sloping door jambs.
The enigmatic Incas knew neither the wheel nor any written language, but
forged an empire stretching 3,680km (2,300mi) along the mighty Andean heights.
Machu Picchu was a complex of temples, palaces and observatories and was the
home of the Inca ruling classes. From here, high priests made observations and
calculations enabling them to chart the heavens - a knowledge which gave them
both religious authority and temporal power.

13) Elephants in Atlantis
Plato is very specific on the presence of elephants in Atlantis. In his Critias, the philosopher writes:

"There were a great number of elephants in the island, for there was ample provision of food for all sorts of animals... including for the animal which is the largest and the most voracious of all."

Celtic Knotwork: celtic knots. Celts

Published by , at 20:18, under Lost civilization

Origin
Prior to the Christian influence on the Celts (about A.D. 450), the only known Celtic artwork consisted of geometrical patterns such as spirals, key patterns, and step patterns. It has been suggested that the Celts' religion prevented them from depicting the works of the creator, namely animals, plants, and humans. That is why their artwork is restricted to geometrical patterns.
Many of these patterns have similar or identical counterparts in early Christian manuscripts and artwork. There can be no doubt that the Christian Celtic artwork was strongly influenced by pagan Celtic sources. However, it is only in the artwork of the Christian era that we see knotwork, celtic knots or celtic knotwork. Besides knotwork, the Christian Celts also added human, plant, and animal forms to their decorations.

This is the beginning of the story. One day, in the neighbourhood of his stronghold, Bran went about alone, when he heard music behind him. As often as he looked back, 'twas still behind him the music was. At last he fell asleep at the music, such was its sweetness. When he awoke from his sleep, he saw close by him a branch of silver with white blossoms, nor was it easy to distinguish its bloom from that branch. Then Bran took the branch in his hand to his royal house. When the hosts were in the royal house, they saw a woman in strange raiment on the floor of the house. 'Twas then she sang the fifty quatrains to Bran, while the host heard her, and all beheld the woman. And she said:

2) Seaports, Navigation, Irrigation Canals
One of the most fascinating features of Plato's Atlantis was the vast network of canals used for the double purpose of irrigating its extensive agricultural plains and for the fluvial transportation of their produce. The of thecapital of the Atlantean empire was crossed and surrounded by these canals, forming a figure known as "Celtic Cross" or "Crossed Circle", thus  Open in new window. This symbol is often confused with that of the Earth or even of the Sun. But it indeed originally applied, as in ancient Egypt, to the land of Paradise.
